Re: Official Statement
At this time, due to the death of Punong Guro Edgar G. Sulite after having been comatose for four weeks following a stroke, it has been determined by the Senior Officers of LEI that the following be effective immediately:
1. Guro Christopher Ricketts, officially designated as the next highest
ranking instructor in the LEI organization by PG Sulite, will take over
as the Chief Instructor and Director of Lameco Eskrima International.
2. Guro Rey Galang will assist Guro Ricketts as Administrative Director.
All correspondence and queries will be coursed through Guro Galang at PO
Box 692, Roseland, NJ 07068 with e-mail at arjee@aol.com.
3. A Sulite Family Trust Fund will be setup to provide for the medical
and financial needs of the Sulite family.
4. All existing rankings will remain unchanged for a minimum of one (1)
year. No promotion (whether by rank testing or merit) will be executed up
to March 1998. An international Lameco camp will be organized to gather
all instructors and candidate instructors for re-evaluation, re-training
and conference.
5. Any certified LEI instructor conducting seminars under the LEI banner
will be required to contribute 10% of the seminar proceeds to the Sulite
Family Trust Fund.
6. Any personal or individual contribution to the Sulite Family Trust
Fund may be forwarded directly to the Sulite Family Trust Fund. Further
details regarding the Trust Fund will be distributed separately.
We trust that everyone will continue to maintain the high standard, integrity
and fraternal spirit that Punong Guro Edgar G. Sulite has established and
nurtured within the LEI organization.
